I have been creating a body of abstract work based on lessons, verses, and messages of peace.
These ‘messages’ are visual reminders to hold true to promises of peace. For years I’ve been inspired by Judaic and thought about how as Christians we need modern art for our home that can bring His word to life. Art that doesn’t preach but rather communicates subliminal messages of peace, hope, and triumph over tough times.
When I’m in church and listen to the message, I think about how those messages can be translated into art. Yes, I doodle on the sides of my notes.
My work is about verses made visually as a reminder to stay in peace because we are rooted in promises. I take the messages I hear and then make them into shapes, colors, paper collages, paint, monoprints, and drawing mediums to create a visual translation of concepts. Each piece has layers of messages to uncover.
